| What is an Ultipak?
An Ultipak preform is a two-layer composite structure. The inner layer surrounds
electronic assemblies (such as PC boards, batteries or sensors) with a soft visco
elastic silicone material. The outer layer of an Ultipak Preform is made of a harder
silicone material that supports the soft visco elastic material, and provides a hinge.
This hinge allows access to the electronics assembly inside.
Ultipaks are custom preformed to fit electronics assemblies allowing the assemblies to
be installed, removed and re-installed as needed. The mechanical and thermal
properties of these silicone materials have been optimized for use with
electronics in extreme environments.
